Municipal police officer dies in D'Abadie accident, two others critical

A Municipal police officer is dead and two others are in critical condition after the car they were travelling in collided with a maxi taxi in D'Abadie on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the officers were assigned to the Arima Municipal Police and were travelling in a marked police van in Boys Lane at around 4.10 pm when the crash happened.

Fire officers and an ambulance visited the scene and took the injured people to the Arima Hospital, where WPC Sookdeo was declared dead.

Her colleagues, identified as Cpl Alexander and WPC Seetaram were treated and listed in critical condition up to Tuesday evening.

Police said no passengers in the maxi died from the crash.
