An Arima man is the second suspect held for the murder of businessman Nicholas Mohith earlier this month.

Police said members of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) were doing surveillance on Racetrack Road, Carapo, near a Mosque at around 7.36 pm on Monday when they saw the man.

Police arrested the man and took him to the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II office where he was questioned.

Investigators said the man's cellphone was seized.

The exercise was led by Insp Mark Hernandez, Sgts Matas and Jacob.

On March 24, Andrew Sutton, 28, of Malabar was charged for Mohith's murder.

Mohith, 31, was shot dead at his air conditioning repair businessplace on the Eastern Main Road, Arouca, on March 11 by a gunman who shot him before running away.
