CONCORDE’S Omari Lewis and Simplex’s Leah Bertrand won gold in the men and women’s 100m sprint event at the final leg of the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) track series, on Sunday.

At the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo, Lewis produced a 10.72 second showing to claim top honours ahead of eventual silver medallist Stallion’s Xaverri Williams (10.85s) and joint bronze receivers Simplex’s Khaliyq Abdullah and Concorde’s Shakeel John (10.90s).

In the process, the quartet beat to the line two-time Olympian Rondel Sorrillo, who placed fifth in 10.93s.

Meanwhile in the women’s equivalent, Bertrand sped to victory in 12.03s. Sprinting to silver was Bertrand’s club-mate Kamaria Durant (12.46s) while Memphis Pioneers’ Jeneil Morris (12.79s) held on to bronze.

Jonathan Farinha also topped the field in the men’s 400m. Farinha stopped the clock on 48.45s and bettered unattached Kirdell McIntosh (48.56s) and Mounting Eagles’ Elijah Joseph (49.06s) who completed the top three.

In the women’s 200m, Chelsea Bartholomew of Phoenix Athletics powered to victory in 1:08.34. Bartholomew surpassed the only other contender, 2015 World Championships 4x100m bronze medallist Reyare Thomas, who was unable to complete the distance.
