THE Red Force Simmons XI fell to a 125-run defeat after struggling to handle the Red Force Rajah XI spin attack in a TT Red Force four-day trial match at the National Cricket Centre in Couva, on Thursday.

Chasing 240 for victory on day three, Simmons XI could only muster 114 all out in the second innings in 27.2 overs. Navin Bidaisee and Tion Webster were the top scorers for the Simmons XI with 25 and 21 respectively.

The Rajah XI spin trio of Bryan Charles, Kavesh Kantasingh and Kissoondath Magram combined to grab seven wickets. Charles took 3/46 in ten overs, Kantasingh bagged 2/14 in four overs and Magram snatched 2/17 in 3.2 overs.

Fast bowler Shaaron Lewis was also among the wickets with 2/16 in four overs.

Earlier in the day, Rajah XI were dismissed for 166 in its second innings after resuming the day on 132/5.

Spinner Jon Russ Jaggesar and Ricky Jaipaul were the chief destroyers with 5/40 in 19 overs and 3/21 in 11.2 overs respectively.

The Red Force are preparing for the upcoming West Indies Four-Day Championships.
