Mason Hall man held with 156 marijuana trees

One man was arrested on Thursday for possession of 156 marijuana trees during an anti-crime exercise in Mason Hall, Tobago.

The Dangerous Drug (Amendment) Act 2019 allows four marijuana plants per person in each household.

Police said the Emergency Respond Patrol Unit was on patrol in Mason Hall when officers observed a large quantity of marijuana plants in an open area at a premises along Belmont Road.

The officers met a 40-year-old man living there and informed him that he exceeded the legal limit of four plants on his property.

PC Adams and Criminal Investigation Department officers visited the scene and counted 156 marijuana plants. The officers seized the trees and arrested the suspect.

PC Adams is continuing inquiries.
