Spinners Charles, Magram shine in Red Force trial

SPINNERS Bryan Charles and Kissoondath Magram both snatched three wickets to put the Red Force Rajah XI in a commanding position against Red Force Simmons XI in a TT Red Force four-day trial match at the National Cricket Centre in Couva, on Wednesday.

Resuming on 33/1 in the first innings on day two, Simmons XI were dismissed for 117 handing Rajah XI a lead of 73 runs.

Magram and Charles grabbed 3/33 and 3/15 respectively to limit Simmons XI to a modest total.

Daniel St Clair was the top scorer for Simmons XI with 25.

In the second innings, Rajah XI closed on 132/5 with an overall lead of 205 runs. Captain Isaiah Rajah hit 34 and Nicholas Alexis pitched in with 28. Spinner Jon Russ Jaggesar was the best bowler for Simmons XI with 2/26.

The match continues on Thursday.
