Two new covid19 cases detected

Only two new cases of covid19 have been detected in samples taken between March 13 and 15. But the number of active cases remains over 100, at 106.

There have been no new deaths, so the toll is still 140.

One person has been discharged from public health facilities and there is one recovered community case.

There are five people in hospital, one less than on Monday, all at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility. There is one person in step-down facilities at the UWI, Debe campus.

There are 98 people in home self-isolation, four more than on Monday. There are 276 people in state quarantine facilities, a decrease of 13 from Monday’s figure of 297.

The Ministry of Health’s Tuesday update said there have been 7,790 cases since March 2020, and 7,544 people have recovered.

The update said a total of 103,422 people have been tested to date, 49,277 of them at private facilities. The number tested up to Monday was 103,342.
