Five new covid19 cases detected

Five new cases of covid19 have been detected in samples taken between March 12 and 14. There are now 106 active cases.

The number of deaths remains at 140, according to the Health Ministry’s release on Monday.

There have been 7,788 cases since March 2020, of which 7,542 have recovered.

Two people have been discharged from public health facilities and there are nine recovered community cases.

There are six people in hospital, one less than on Sunday. Of these, all are at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility. There is one person in step-down facilities at the UWI, Debe campus.

There are 94 people in home self-isolation, four more than on Sunday. There are 289 people in state quarantine facilities, a decrease of eight from Sunday’s figure of 297.

The update said a total of 103,342 people have been tested to date, 49,277 of them at private facilities. The number tested up to Sunday was 101,952.
