TTCF kicks off UN Road Safety Week

IN recognition of the United Nations’ resolution on Improving Global Road Safety, the TT Cycling Federation (TTCF) kicks off the UN Global Road Safety Week with a bike safety awareness ride on Sunday from 3pm.

In light of UN’s proclamation of the Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030) and the ambitious target of preventing at least half of road traffic deaths and injuries, local cycling clubs Central Spokes, Sabers, Rigtech Sonics and Coconut Rim have opted to raise awareness.

The ride begins at Barakah Grounds in Chaguanas, heads to felicity and on to the Chaguanas main road. Cyclists will return to the starting point via Lange Park. The expected duration is just under two hours.

UN Global Road Safety Week 2021 runs from Wednesday to Sunday. All cyclists must adhere to the required covid19 protocols set out by the TT Government.

Those who wish to join in on this first-time ride can contact Ronnie at 388-2010, Larry at 678-7080, Maria at 780-1357 and Roger at678-4578.
