THE EDITOR: What is the sense of the continued restrictions on restaurants and bars when every establishment is currently serving alcohol “under low,” in a hide-and-seek battle with the police?

It is plain to see there was no so-called “spikes” in covid19 cases from Christmas to the present, so the continued restrictions are illogical.

It’s a year now that these establishments have been suffering, along with staff and other supporting businesses, many on the verge of collapse, and the Government’s stance is now nothing short of ridiculous.

The restrictions for restaurants and bars need to be removed 100 per cent immediately.
