Plipdeco constables get permission to issue traffic tickets in Pt Lisas estate

The Point Lisas Development Corporation Limited (Plipdeco) will now be able to issue traffic violations to motorists using the roads within the Point Lisas Industrial Estate effective April 1.

The privileges were granted by the Ministry of Works and Transport under the Eight Schedule of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act No. 9 of 2017.

Plipdeco estate constables are now authorised to issue fixed penalties to assist with “providing a safe environment for stakeholders by reducing the accident and incident rates in the estate, enforcing the motor vehicle traffic law and assisting in maintaining law and order by motorist.”

Plipdeco noted that sensitisation exercise were carded for the week of March 22, but specific dates were being finalised.
