One of the relatives of 15-year-old Akid Duke has questioned the humanity of his killers as she wondered how they lived with themselves after murdering an unarmed child.

Duke was gunned down while waiting in a car for his mother at Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaking with Newsday at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, on Friday, one relative said they were still reeling from his murder.

"Sometimes you really wonder what goes on in the mind of the people that do this. How they live with themselves?"

Newsday understands Duke's mother had to be hospitalised for stress-related issues on Thursday but has since been discharged.

Newsday tried to contact Arouca/ Maloney MP Camille Robinson-Regis for comment but was unsuccessful.
