Mom of 3 killed in suspected murder-suicide in San Fernando

A mother of three was brutally murdered allegedly by her partner on Tuesday evening in San Fernando, the day after International Women’s Day was commemorated.

Crime scene investigators were on the scene of the suspected murder-suicide on Tuesday night.

Initial reports indicate Dwight Waldron, also known as Quan, killed the mother of his children, Adeina Alleyne, 35, before taking his own life at their home.

The couple had three children, who are now orphans. Two were at home when the incident took place around 7 pm, at Building 5, Apt 34, Lady Hailes Avenue, San Fernando.

It was the screams of the older child to "help Mummy” that alerted neighbours to the gruesome incident. Alleyne was found in a pool of blood with stab wounds. Quan was also dead.

Neighbours said they heard no earlier sounds or screams to indicate something was wrong.

They had to break down the door to enter the apartment as someone had placed an obstacle behind it.

Neighbours said the couple, Quan, a security officer. and Alleyne, a supervisor at Puff N’ Stuff Bakery on Circular Road, San Fernando had a tumultuous relationship.

They said they always broke up and reunited.

The incident has shocked the entire community.

Speaking at the scene, Quan’s cousin Hazel Spark said the couple had separated and he was not handling it well. She said her cousin told people he was going to commit this act.

“No one believed him,” she said.

She said she did not know why Alleyne was at the house.

Police are investigating.
