Kudos to Pollard on 6 sixes in over

THE EDITOR: Kudos to the Trinidadian firebrand batsman Kieron Pollard on becoming the third batsman to slam six sixes in an over in international cricket. The other two cricketers to achieve this outstanding feat are Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa against the Netherlands (2007) and Yuvraj Singh of India against England (2007).

However, Pollard’s performance should be lauded by all cricket lovers, especially as Sri Lankan bowler Akila Dananjaya had recorded a hat-trick, dismissing Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran, in his previous over to being sent over the fence six consecutive times by Pollard.

Of course the honour of this unparalleled sort of cricket game goes to the legendary West Indian cricketer Sir Garfield Sobers, who is the first to smash six sixes in one over back on August 31, 1968, against Glamorgan in England.
