THE EDITOR: Thanks to the San Fernando General Hospital for the professional care given to me during my pregnancy and delivery. Having been referred by my private doctor to the hospital due to complications with the pregnancy, I was a bit uncertain as to what to expect.
However, from my first visit to the Maternal and Child Health Clinic to my subsequent stays on the Antenatal Ward each week, and finally my delivery and stay on the Postnatal Ward, I was well cared for beyond my expectations.
The doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff were exceptional in their care and attention not just of me, but also the other patients. I salute their hard work and dedication. The SWRHA should be proud of them. Very often our public healthcare system is branded as second class but I beg to differ. The staff there works under immense stress and huge demands.
A very special “thank you” to Dr Dev Singh, Dr Latchman and team for their input in safely delivering our baby through a complicated pregnancy. Words are insufficient to express our thanks. We truly believe that God used them and guided them to make the best decisions. May God richly bless each one of them.
“Thank you” also to the members of the auxiliary staff. They may not be in the forefront but without them things would definitely fall apart. Thanks to the Operating Theatre staff for such a seamless operation. A special thank you to sonographers Duncan and Garcia in the Ultrasound Department for their dedication, as they clearly work in a very stressful environment.
May God richly bless each one of them so that they continue doing a fantastic job.
