Sangre Grande Regional Corp prepares for flooding

The Health Department at the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation Chairman Anil Juteram is ensuring that as many water courses in the area are cleared to prevent flooding this rainy season.

Juteram told Newsday on Thursday that the corporation had already begun the initiative. He said there were eight electoral areas – four in Toco/Sangre Grande and four in Cumuto/Manzanilla. He said the corporation would start by clearing two water courses in each area.

On Thursday, the corporation cleaned water courses along Robinson Circular #3, Toco/Sangre Grande.

Juteram said, “We at the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation are ensuring our water courses are desilted and cleaned. Tonnes of debris and garbage were removed in a timely manner.”
