Missing gun found at President's House

The day after it was reported missing from the locker of it's owner at President's House, a Sig Sauer pistol was found.

Sources told Newsday the gun was found and an employee of the President's House arrested.

A police report confirmed that a lance corporal who is assigned to the President's House left the pistol and 30 rounds of ammunition in the locker of the male dormitory while on duty at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday.

The soldier returned to the locker at round 6.30 pm and found it had been broken into and the gun and ammunition were missing.

Members of the Police Canine Unit went to the house on Thursday morning. Several people were interviewed.

Belmont police are continuing enquiries.
