Police are trying to identify a man who was shot dead in Arima early on Wednesday morning.
They said the Northern Division Task Force received a report of a shooting at around 1 am and went to the Eastern Main Road, Arima, where they found the body of a man near Victory Street.
Police said the man appeared to be of mixed descent, with an athletic build, between 35 and 40, and had several tattoos. He also appeared to have gunshot wounds.
Homicide Investigators were called in with a district medical officer, who declared the man dead.
Police found two spent shells, one live round of ammunition and a Blu cellphone.
Investigators from the Homicide Bureau Region II are continuing enquiries.
