Two Beetham men are expected to be charged for the possession of drugs and resisting arrest at Maracas Bay on Sunday afternoon.

Police said members of the North Eastern Division Task Force, with assistance from the Maracas Bay police, held a road block from 10 am-1 pm.

During the exercise police saw a car driving suspiciously and stopped it, searching the two men inside.

The men were found to have 113 grams of marijuana.

Police said the men, 19 and 21, tried to push away the officers' hands when confronted.

They are expected to be charged for the possession of marijuana, dangerous driving, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest.

The exercise was led by Snr Supt Maharaj and Insp Bharath, with field operations by PCs Barath and Dwarika.
