Free online umpiring course starts Monday

THE North Zone Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association of TT will begin an online umpires' training course on Monday, from 5 pm.

It will be led by qualified and experienced current regional and international umpires, as well as former umpires. It is designed for people wishing to become umpires, including former players, students, teachers and coaches.

International Cricket Council elite umpire Joel Wilson and international umpire Gregory Brathwaite are among the umpires who will pass on their experience in the course.

Peter Nero will also share his knowledge. Nero is a former international umpire, the West Indies cricket umpires coach and chairman of the West Indies Cricket Umpires Association training and examination committee.

Executive member of the TT Olympic Committee Dr Terry Ali will deliver the feature address on the opening day of the class.

The course is not limited to people living in north Trinidad. It will run every Monday and Wednesday (except for public holidays), from 5-7 pm until October.
