Police charged a 29-year-old Point Fortin man with two counts of larceny by trick, arising from two incidents last month at a store in Chaguanas.

Trevor Jackson, who lives at Jackson Trace in Chatham Village, was scheduled to appear before a Chaguanas magistrate on Thursday.

A police release on Thursday said Jackson bought several cell phones together valued at $35,100 from the store on December 15 and 16, 2020. He paid for them via bank transfer.

However, the transaction was declined after Jackson had already left the store with the phones. Police from the Chaguanas CID and CID Operations launched an investigation after the victim reported it.

On Monday, police from the North Eastern Division arrested him. On Wednesday, WPC Thomas of the Chaguanas CID charged him with the two offences.
