PNM Tobago political leader Tracy Davidson-Celestine intends to stimulate employment in Lambeau/Signal Hill if elected to office in the January 25 THA election.

Speaking on Monday at the EBC office, Montessori Drive, Glen Road, Scarborough after filing her nomination papers, Davidson-Celestine outlined some of her plans for Lambeau/Signal Hill. Davidson-Celestine said she intends to tackle several physical infrastructure challenges with respect to drainage and water management.

She also intends to push for business development and entrepreneurship initiatives “because we have some challenges there with unemployment.”

Davidson-Celestine said she has already spoken to Secretary for Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment Kwesi Des Vignes about some of these concerns. Davidson-Celestine thanked her supporters saying she is extremely happy to lead the PNM into the upcoming election. She said the party’s manifesto will be launched on January 7.

At the launch of candidates on Monday, Davidson-Celestine said although she has paid her dues in the party, nothing has been given to her. Davidson-Celestine said she has fought for everything she has achieved and promised to continue fighting for the PNM and Tobagonians.

She said Tobagonians will be voting for a team to guide the island through current covid19 crisis.

Noting the negative impact of the covid19 pandemic, Davidson-Celestine said the country is on the road to recovery through the "capable and competent" efforts of the PNM.

"We have reason to be hopeful and optimistic for 2021 yet we recognise that it will bring with it its own challenges. it is essential to have stable, trusted leadership to weather the storm."

She said the manifesto will soon unveil the PNM's plans for Tobagonians.

Describing the Progressive Democratic Patriots as a "headless horseman," Davidson-Celestine said she was confused by the arrangement within the PDP that its deputy leader Farley Augustine, and not its political leader, was the party's choice for chief secretary.

She added, "This the A-team. This is my team. This the team that will win this election resoundingly."
