Police suspect Maraval bank robbery an inside job

Police investigating the robbery of an RBC ATM in Maraval on Sunday are working on the theory that the bandits had inside help with the theft of $1.3 million.

According to reports, at about 9 am on Sunday, an RBC manager confirmed getting a report from an electronic response officer of unusual activity at an ATM at the Maraval branch. The manager arrived at 10 am to find the two machines cut open and cash trays on the floor.

They got to the ATMs through a hole in the western wall of the building.

Police have since interviewed staff and managers at the bank. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
