In order to ease traffic along the highway and the Eastern Main Road entering Port of Spain, the Ministry of Works and Transport has opened the Priority Bus Route (PBR) to the public.

In a media release at 11 am, the ministry reported that the westbound lane of the PBR would be open from Mt Hope to Port of Spain.

The traffic was due to repairs on a damaged pipeline on Wrightson Road.

Earlier on Thursday the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) issued a release confirming work was under way to repair a 12-inch diameter pipeline on the westbound lane.

The release said the repairs, which began on Wednesday afternoon, were expected to be completed by 10 am on Thursday and the road repairs were to be finished by midday.

WASA also warned some areas in northwestern Trinidad might continue to experience some disruption in their water supply up to 24 hours after repairs were completed.
