THE Ramkissoon Rural Foundation (RRF) on December 18 presented 18 electronic devices (ten laptop computers and eight tablets) valued at $50,000, to the acting principal of the Tabaquite RC Primary School, Gregory Subero.

A statement issued by the RRF said the simple handover function was attended by former principal Ann Bahadoorsingh, RRF directors and its teachers. RRF chairman, former independent senator Prof Harold Harold Ramkissoon, recognised the school as his alma mater and spoke fondly of his early days there.

He said those memories are captured in his autobiography. Copies of Ramkissoon's autobiography were donated to the school during the function. Ramkissoon asked that the school make full use of the devices in the development of their IT programme.

The RRF was launched at the St Augustine Campus of the UWI in 2017 to support needy and deserving students in rural areas of Trinidad and Tobago who have financial difficulties in pursuing their education.
