One new death, five covid19 cases reported

There has been one new covid19 death reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 126.

The trend of fewer than 20 new cases being reported daily continued, as five cases were reported from samples taken between December 27 and 29.

The Health Ministry’s Wednesday release said the number of cases had dipped below 400 and stood at 378, down from Tuesday’s figure of 407. Since March, 7,132 cases have been recorded and 6,628 patients have recovered.

There were 27 people in hospital, three fewer than Tuesday’s figure of 30.

The number of people in step-down facilities remained the same at 41, while there were 169 people in state quarantine facilities, 36 more than Tuesday’s figure of 133.

There were 305 people in home self-isolation, 19 fewer than Tuesday’s figure of 324. Of these, 17 are in the care of the prison system, which had 37 patients on Tuesday.

The number of tests done at public and private facilities since March stands at 72,247, an increase of 105 over Tuesday’s numbers, with 31,802 being carried out at private health facilities.
