Man dies in highway crash

A 35-year-old man is dead after his car crashed on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway on Saturday night.

The man has been identified as Shomarri Holder of Kiskadee Drive, D’abadie.

According to police, Holder was driving on the Westbound lane of the highway, when he lost control of his vehicle near Grand Bazaar.

The vehicle crashed and the driver was thrown from the car onto the roadway. He died on the scene.

Police warned the public against driving without a seatbelt.

The number of road fatalities for the year stand at 94. Last year for the same period, the toll stood at 119.
