Hilaire gets three more years as CBTT governor

DR ALVIN Hilaire will serve another three years as governor of the Central Bank of TT (CBTT).

Hilaire, who has roughly 25 years' experience at CBTT, received his new instruments of appointment from Minister of Finance Colm Imbert on Wednesday.

He previously held the positions of senior economist, chief economist, director of research and deputy governor.

He also has extensive experience in macroeconomic policy development and implementation and monetary policy matters.

Hilaire holds a PhD in economics from Columbia University in New York and graduated with first-class honours from UWI, St Augustine.

He was first appointed CBTT governor and chairman of the board in December 2015.
