Endeavour Cricket Club distribute 800 toys

ENDEAVOUR Cricket Club distributed hundreds of toys to children in the community of Endeavour, Chaguanas, on Sunday.

President of the club Andy Gobin said the goal was to bring joy to people as many were affected by the covid19 pandemic.

Gobin, secretary of the club Clinton Williams and other members of the club distributed gifts. Gobin said 85 members of the club handed out gifts while ensuring covid19 guidelines were followed. Some club members stayed in their cars and others walked on the street to avoid large gatherings. Gobin said 800 toys were distributed. Endeavour Cricket Club, which recently elected a youthful executive, are also attempting to create camaraderie between residents and the club.

Gobin said, “(It was done) to bring back the community, involve the community in the club (and) giving back to the community. The community gave us a lot, a lot of memories…2020 has been a really trying year for some people too. We just want to bring some smiles to their kids faces.”

Gobin thanked all the sponsors for supporting despite the difficult economic times. The initiative was supported by businesses such as Accounting Solutions Ltd, Vikaab Engineering, KFC, Maritime Financial Group (Food Giant Supermarket) and Granite Starz. Many other sponsors in the community also assisted the toy drive.
