19 new covid19 cases detected in 48 hours

There are 19 new cases of covid19 in TT, bringing the total number of cases to 6,974.

According to the Health Ministry’s covid19 update on Saturday afternoon, the new cases were detected during the period of December 16 to 18, with one being a recently repatriated person, and one from Tobago.

The number of deaths remains at 123 with the last death occurring on December 14.

The number of active cases have been decreased by two to 425.

A total of 354 people have been home-quarantined under the continuous monitoring of the respective county medical officer of health offices, and 37 of those are from prison.

Twenty-six people are in hospital, 26 are in step-down facilities, and 387 in state quarantine facilities.

The total number of recovered cases is 6,426.
