MEMBERS OF the financial services sector are excited to participate in the first-ever CariFin Games Virtual 5K, which will be an ideal opportunity to mix the yuletide festivities and merriment with the CariFin vibes of fun, fitness and friendship – a unique CariFin Christmas flavour!

Although the year is almost completed and covid 19 has thwarted the CariFin Games, the organisers' main emphasis is to connect with the wider CariFin community to give participants the opportunity to finally experience a race under the CariFin brand. Participants also get the opportunity to earn a specially designed, crafted Christmas medal, featuring CariFin’s mascot, ‘OCE’, (our local ocelot found in our forest) shaking ‘shac shac’ with bags of goodies in hand.

The medal is also a collector’s item, and etched with poinsettias, it can also serve as a Christmas decoration.

The Virtual 5K opens from Saturday December 19, and continues through to January 10, 2021. Participants can run or walk at any place of their choice, individually or with a bit of company for the experience.

The CariFin Christmas Virtual 5K is a game changer, orchestrated by the CariFin Fitness Club to be flexible and move with the times within the spirit of fun, fitness and friendship incorporating a unique CariFin Christmas experience.

Onboard and supporting the event for yet another year, Nigel Baptiste, president and Chief Executive Officer of Republic Financial Holdings Limited, commented, “Notwithstanding the virtual nature of this year’s 5k, I believe it is very important for the financial community to stand (or run) together in solidarity.

"Working to a common purpose, but for our various stakeholders, the financial community has provided invaluable support to Trinidad and Tobago and this virtual 5k at Christmas allows us all the opportunity to re-charge our batteries through exercise and mutual camaraderie as we ready ourselves for the marathon course of 2021. I would like to encourage all to get involved and not just set the right personal health tone for 2021 but also motivation for so many unseen others.”

The CariFin group have expressed their gratitude to their primary sponsors, the Central Bank and the Unit Trust Corporation.

Registration takes place on www.ticketbae.com/carifin5k at a fee of $100.

People can witness the Virtual 5K live on Facebook and YouTube.
