Be someone's angel this Christmas

THE EDITOR: Our country is going through tough times. We cannot pretend we are not, nor can we deny it. The economic hardships resulting from the covid19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on many people. Many businesses have shut down, putting thousands of citizens on the breadline.

The harsh reality is that many people will have an unpleasant Christmas – certainly one that they are not accustomed too. For thousands, this will not be a Christmas for children. But although things make be gloomy for many people, the majority are in a position to assist others in their time of need. They can be their brother’s/sister’s keeper.

If you find yourself in such a position I encourage you to be someone’s angel this Christmas. It may be someone you know right in your community or some little child who is having a tough time. Why not, in whatever way possible, bring some joy in that person's life.

There are people near to us waiting for an angel to show up. You can be that angel. I encourage all, in this season of giving, to light up someone’s world, which may have been made dim through no fault of their own.

Be someone’s angel if you can this Christmas.
