Nalis hosts virtual storytelling event

THE National Library and Information System Authority’s (Nalis) Twelfth Annual Celebrity Tale-A-Thon - Grand Storytelling Event takes place on December 19 from 3 pm via Facebook and YouTube.

Among those who will participate are President Paula Mae Weeks; Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Symon de Nobriga; librarian, poet, playwright Eintou Pearl Springer; international producer and director Lisa Wickham; librarian and international storyteller Joan Osborne (Aunty Queenie); cricketer Samuel Badree; footballer Kye West; as well as media personalities Seigonie Mohammed; Desha Rambajan; Kerron Boodoosingh; Amanda Elliot and Peter Ray Blood.

Also included in the programme will be captivating Teaching Time with young Tristan, who will talk about honey bees, and tips for baking Christmas cookies with Wendy Rahamut.

The Nalis Celebrity Tale-A-Thon has grown over the years and is usually hosted at the amphitheatre at the national library. It seeks to foster a love for reading, promote listening, vocabulary and comprehension skills and the oral tradition.
