THE International Gaming Technology (IGT) company After-School Advantage programme, recently upgraded the Jairah Boys and Raffa Girls Home computer lab.

A media release on Friday said on October 21, IGT presented the home – which recently moved to a location in La Resource, D’ Abadie – with new equipment so the children remain connected to virtual classes at their new location.

The donated equipment included an all-in-one printer and five desktop computers, complete with headsets and webcams.

The two homes are arms of the Loveuntil Foundation which empowers, educates, and mentors young people ages four to 18. There are presently 13 children at the home.

Loveuntil Foundation Chairman Brian Jones said, “This will be very helpful for the children during this time of virtual educational learning.

“Our aim is to be a beacon of hope in the community. Through the generous donation from IGT, we now have access to world-class technology equipment. This lets the children keep pace with information technology skills so they can compete for work opportunities in the future. We are really thankful to IGT for the ongoing support that they have shown.”

IGT has supported the Jairah and Raffa Home since 2014 when the company installed computer labs at both of their former locations.

IGT’s After-School Advantage Programme provides non-profit organisations with internet-ready computers and educational software.
