Soldiers, police officer among 44 arrested at La Horquetta ‘zess’

A police raid at a party in La Horquetta led to the arrest of 44 people including three members of the defence force and a police officer, a police media release on Sunday reported.

The release said police received reports of a "zesser" party at Cordia Crescent, La Horquetta and went to the area.

Police heard loud music and saw a large crowd.

People ran away as they saw the police.

Officers were able to arrest 44 people who were taken to the La Horquetta police station.

The release noted the 44 will be charged by summons and are expected to appear before an Arima magistrate.

The exercise was co-ordinated by acting Insp Ward and conducted by PCs Tewarie, George and WPC Gibson.

La Horquetta police are continuing enquiries.
