Pt Fortin woman charged for assaulting husband, granted bail

A 20-year-old Point Fortin woman, charged with three counts of assault against her husband, has been granted $75,000 bail.

According to police, Dyan Bailey's 41-year-old husband reported her to the police around 10 pm on December 4.

They are both security officers but police did not say which company they work for.

Police said the two were at home in Spring Street, Egypt Village where they got into an argument.

Bailey allegedly became annoyed and threw hot water on her husband, which caused injury.

She then allegedly chased him with a knife and dealt him several blows with her fist.

She also reportedly saw him in the heart of Point Fortin and another argument happened, and she threw several glass bottles at him.

He fled and went to the Point Fortin Police Station where he made a report. He was also examined by a doctor at the Point Fortin District Health Facility and discharged.

He was referred to the Gender-Based Violence Unit at the La Brea Police Station.
