25 new covid19 cases detected, including 7 in Tobago

Twenty-five new cases of covid19 were detected from samples taken between December 7 and 9. Of these, seven are from Tobago and two are recently repatriated people. There are now 641 active cases.

The Health Ministry’s release on Thursday afternoon said there have been no new deaths, so the total remains at 122.

Five people have been discharged from public health facilities and there are 29 further recovered community cases.

There are 36 people in hospital, with 23 at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with two people in the intensive care unit and one in the high dependency unit. There are two patients at the Caura Hospital and 11 at the Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort.

There are 26 patients in step-down facilities, 11 at the Claxton Bay Correctional Facility, five at UWI Debe, and ten in Tobago. There are 451 people in state quarantine facilities, and 554 people in home self-isolation, 177 of whom are in the prison system.

A total of 6,070 patients have now recovered out of the 6,833 cases since March.
In all, 38,077 people have been tested in the public health system.
