CXC continues to review queries

THE Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) asked students to be patient as they work to complete the queries and Requests for Reviews (RFRs) submitted by students across the region.

In a statement issued on Monday, CXC said the council is working to finalise grades for Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) July/August 2020 examinations.

“We understand the psychosocial impact of the extended covid19 related circumstances and have heard the concerns of ministry officials, teachers, parents and students.

“These concerns are being addressed with further consideration of the hardships that students and their parents may have been experiencing.”

It said in addition to the RFRs, the council along with the Independent Review Team, which was formed to review the examination process after students across the region protested their grades, have also been reviewing single grade changes and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects. It said this approach will help to expedite the process.

“We are committed to a thorough and speedy completion of the review process as we understand that the wait has been long for many,” said the statement. The statement said the process is expected to be completed shortly.
