As police continue investigations into the murder of 18-year-old Ashanti Riley, they will meet with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice on what charges two suspects should face on Wednesday.

Police found Riley's decomposing body in a forest near Cakes Land, La Canoa, Santa Cruz, last Friday. Relatives had reported her missing five days earlier.

She was last seen getting into a private hire (PH) taxi on Sunday afternoon after leaving her home at Lloyd Street, San Juan, to go to her grandmother's birthday party.

Police said on Tuesday once Riley's autopsy is completed on Wednesday, they will take the post-mortem report to the DPP to begin discussions.

They first arrested a 32-year-old taxi driver in relation to Riley's disappearance. Newsday understands this man has been accused of grievous sexual assault in the past.

They also arrested a 29-year-old man from San Juan for her murder and are also seeking a 34-year-old San Juan man.

Investigators from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I are continuing enquiries.
