A police media release on Monday said the three – David Floyd, aka "Farmer," Selene Belle, aka "Mariah," and Rivaldo Beckles, all of Kelly Village, Caroni – were charged on Sunday with the murder of Mickel Berrot.

The release reported that Berrot and another man had an argument with two other men at Boyie Trace, off Madras Road, St Helena, at around midday on September 25.

Berrot was stabbed several times and his attackers stole his Nissan Tiida and $50.

Later that afternoon Berrot and his friend went to the Caroni police station. From there they were taken to Mt Hope, where Berrot died while being treated at around 8.30 pm.

The release reported that Berrot had gone to Curepe to meet a woman.

Floyd, Belle and Beckles were charged after investigators received advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC.
