Service being restored after nationwide internet outage

Internet connectivity to several service providers was affected on Monday morning by a disruption of an international cable link via Curacao.

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) issued a statement which said the problem was "island-wide" but the source of the disruption had been identified and work to restore connectivity was ongoing.

“We have received confirmation that full service will be restored by midday (Monday).”

The statement said another media notice bearing the authority’s logo on a similar incident was an outdated statement from 2015 and should be disregarded.

Service providers Flow and Digicel issued advisories on their social media platforms informing customers of the interruptions.

Digicel also said Home and Entertainment customers in TT, St Vincent and Barbados would experience service degradation.
