Gasparillo man dies while crossing road

A Gasparillo man is now dead after he was knocked down by a senior policeman while crossing the road on Saturday.

Dead is Shawn Sieunarinesingh, 43, of Ramdass Street, Gasparillo.

Reports said at about 1.10 pm Sieunarinesingh was crossing the Bonne Aventure Road in Gasparillo when a Nissan Frontier driven by a special reserved ASP struck him.

Sieunarinesingh was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he later died.

Police have since taken a statement from the ASP and investigations continue.
