THE BOARD of the TT Super League (TTSL) has made it clear that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) will continue on Sunday, despite media reports indicating that interim president Jameson Rigues plans to have an emergency meeting on Saturday, in an apparent bid to avoid Sunday’s election.

Rigues is challenging former Strike Squad captain Clayton ‘JB’ Morris for the post of president, which was vacated by the long-serving Keith Look Loy in October.

TT Super League secretary Peter Thomas, in a Whatsapp message on Friday, said, “The (AGM) is scheduled to go ahead on Sunday as planned. The TT Super League board has sanctioned the meeting for the 6th.”

On Thursday, the TT Super League’s board members, comprising Eddison Dean, George Joseph, Colin Murray and Anderson Veronique, issued a media release, stating that the AGM was “already underway” and will resume “virtually after it was illegally aborted by Rigues on November 29.”

Rigues was also accused of operating “unilaterally and refuses to accept the collective authority and decision making of the Board.”

Rigues, who is the manager of Guaya United, could not be reached up to press time last evening.
