THE Music Festival Association North Committee held its award ceremony for the 33rd Music Festival last Thursday at Queen’s Hall.

Over 50 awards were given out in the junior and open classes of instrumentalists, choirs and vocalists. Nine special awards were also given out to outstanding performers.

The feature address was given by Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, who was minister of culture at the beginning of the festival. She is now the Minister of Education.

Live performances were given by Most Outstanding Instrumentalists Azara Mohammed, Adam Bartholomew and Nicholas Gooding.

This was followed by performances by Renee Lawrence Most Outstanding Junior Vocalist; Kory Mendez, Most Outstanding Open Vocalist; and Misty-Ann Knights, Most Outstanding vocalist.

Clarice Beeput was not on hand to receive her award as Most Outstanding Vocalist.

The 33rd Music Festival came to an abrupt end in March because of the covid19 pandemic.
