AN EARLY morning exercise in St Joseph and St Augustine led to the seizure of guns, ammunition, samurai swords and marijuana and the arrest of ten people for various offences.
Members of the Northern Division Task Force West, St Joseph CID and the police Canine Unit began an exercise at around 12 am on Thursday which lasted until 6 am.
Police searched several houses in Wharf Trace and Farm Road in St Joseph and Mohammed Trace and Riverside Road in St Augustine, where they the drugs, three guns and two samurai swords.
Of the ten men held, two were wanted for enquiries into shootings while another two were wanted for house breaking and larceny. The ages of those held range from 16 to 55. St Joseph police are continuing enquiries.
