21 new covid19 cases reported

The number of daily cases of covid19 continues to fluctuate, with 22 new cases being detected between from samples taken between November 30 and December 2. The number of active cases now stands at 743.

The Health Ministry’s release on Thursday evening said four people have been discharged from public health facilities and there are 14 recovered community cases.

There are 43 people in hospital. Twenty-six are at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with one person in the intensive care unit and one in the high dependency unit. There are three patients at the Caura Hospital, two at St Ann’s, and 12 at the Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort.

There are 22 patients in step-down facilities, 11 at the Claxton Bay Correctional Facility, ten at UWI, Debe, and one in Tobago. There are 300 people in state quarantine facilities, and 657 people in "home" self-isolation, 186 of whom are in the prison system.

The total number of cases since March is 6,725 and 5,861 patients have recovered.

A total of 37,155 people have been tested in the public health system.
