Fans of soca artiste Nailah Blackman can look forward to her new web series called Welcome to D Army.

The series will debut on December 26 with teasers on Instagram and full episodes on YouTube.

In describing what the series is going to be about her manager Anson Soverall told Newsday there will be eight episodes. Twelve social media influencers and/or professionals with talents have been selected to complete and compete in a given challenge.

He said the group is composed of some influencers popular on Twitter and Instagram while others are some of the “best make-up artistes, some of the best set designers, hairdressers, some are studying law, biomedical, accounts.

“We wanted to put them into various situations where there is a challenge based on one or two of their specific talents.”

He said the first challenge asked that a music video be done for Nailah and the 12 were split into two groups.

“We made them style, set design, starred in. Basically, plan and do the entire video.”

He said one video production team was hired and the groups were given 48 hours within which to get the video done with a small budget.

He said every episode a winning team is going to be chosen and then the teams will be shuffled around.

Soverall said Blackman and her team plan to take the series to the wider Caribbean.

Newsday will keep you informed as this develops and for more information follow Nailah’s social media accounts.
