7 win in GraceKennedy's Goodbye Bills promotion

SEVEN people found themselves in the lucky and enviable position of not having to pay any bill for upwards of six months after being announced as the grand prize winners in the GraceKennedy Goodbye Bills Promotion.

A press release from GraceKennedy stated that the promotion was launched in response to the economic hardship brought about by the global pandemic and which saw many people either losing their jobs or being forced to take a pay cut.

“As citizens became impacted by job losses and reduced incomes, making bill payments became inceasingly difficult for a lot of people,” said Donald Edwards, Country Manager for GraceKennedy Money Services (Trinidad and Tobago) Ltd, home of Bill Express.

“Goodbye Bills allowed us to lend a helping hand with month-end expenses and brought muchneeded relief to those struggling to make ends meet.”

Over the three months of the promotion, anyone paying a bill at Bill Express was automatically entered into the competition. There were random draws bi-weekly, culminating in a grand prize draw. Winners walked away with Bill Express payment vouchers covering between one and six months’ coverage in terms of bill payments.

“It was a welcome surprise and a much needed one,” stated Patricia Ali, one of the earliest winners. Her relief and gratitude were shared by Anthony Biddy, winner of the grand prize of six months’ bills paid.

“This is a blessing to me and so humbling”, Biddy said. “With my bills paid, I am able to give to charity and I would like to give even more now to those in need.” Owing to the overwhelming response, Goodbye Bills has returned with an enhanced Christmas edition featuring two grand prize draws, one held at the end of November and the other to be held at the end of this month.

Bill Express is the bill payments place from GraceKennedy Money Services. Customers using Bill Express can pay a variety of bills all in one store. Payments are accepted for over 20 companies inclusive of major utilities.
