Less than four months after he moved into a rented apartment at Rambert Village in La Romaine, someone gunned down Russell Pardasie at his home on Thursday morning.

Police said at about 6 am, officers from the Homicide Bureau Region III and the Southern Division responded to a shooting report and found Pardasie’s body on the floor of his apartment at Beach Avenue. The 51-year-old had been shot in the head.

Newsday visited the area on Friday but residents said they knew very little about him.

"He is from the east, but some in-laws live in the area. He began renting on August 1 and worked as a barber somewhere else. He lived alone and always went to work early and reached back late. We do not know anything about the killing," a resident said.

A relative yesterday declined to speak to the media.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the killing, and no one has been arrested.

An autopsy is scheduled to be done next week at the Forensic Sciences Centre at St James.
