TT’s Narcis delivers MVP showing in Spain

SPANISH pro team Destination Palencia recorded their second win of the LEB Gold League 2020/21 season courtesy a MVP performance from TT basketballer Jabari Narcis.

At the Municipal Sports Pavilion in Spain, on Saturday, Palencia defeated Cáceres 76-65 led by Narcis’ 20-point haul and five rebounds.

The burly six-footer entered his club’s fifth match of the season in the second half of the game with Palencia holding a two-point lead (40-38) at home.

Narcis presence on the court elevated his team’s overall attack in the third period as Palencia entered the fourth quarter 62-52 ahead.

The TT player communicated well with Spanish teammate Nicolas Richotti as the latter also picked up 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Narcis’ performance index rating for this game was 20.

For his impressive showing, Narcis was adjudged MVP.

After five games, Palencia (37pts) sit in fourth position on the LEB Gold League standings.

League leaders Valladolid (41pts), Gipuzkoa (41pts) and Coruna (39pts) respectively round off the top three.

Narcis and his Palencia outfit will travel to Oviedo to face Liberbank Oviedo on Saturday at 5pm.

Prior to his pro debut in Spain, two months ago, Narcis played for mthe University of Texas Arlington and Jacksonville Community College in Texas.
